Camila on fire

Sarebbe troppo facile dire che Camila Giorgi è la favorita nella finale di Merida, questa notte alle 2 italiane, dopo averla vista anche con la Siniakova in semifinale riemergere da un momento difficile, non proprio la sua specialità. Però Giorgi-Peterson è una partita aperta, a dispetto del ranking (Giorgi 68 WTA ma da domani nelle prime 50, Peterson 140). La svedese non è una fine stratega del tennis, come del resto la Giorgi, ma una picchiatrice (soprattutto di diritto) senza coscienza che nelle giornate migliori gioca in progressione come una wannabe Clijsters. Con entrambe in giornata sì vince la Giorgi, quindi mettiamo 90 euro su Camila a 1,57.

Oggi il competente si può scaldare alle 15 con la finale del Challenger di Rovereto fra Giulio Zeppieri (127 ATP) e Dominic Stricker (153). Equilibrata sfida fra mancini entrambi in grande forma, forse è più vario il gioco dell’italiano ma questo sarà secondo noi l’anno dell’esplosione della grande speranza svizzera e del suo gioco offensivo: 70 euro su Stricker a 1,71.

Alle 21.30 imperdibile Alcaraz-Norrie, finale di Rio de Janeiro. Lo spagnolo di questa settimana, visto con attenzione contro Fognini e Jarry, ci è piaciuto poco come atteggiamento, con un grande difensore come il britannico può anche perdere ma non crediamo che avvenga: le quote sono sbagliate e noi ci inseriamo mettendo 20 euro su Norrie a 4,70.

But Giorgi-Peterson is an open match, in spite of the ranking (Giorgi 68 WTA but from tomorrow in the top 50, Peterson 140). The Swede is not a fine tennis strategist, as is Giorgi, but a slugger (especially with the forehand) without conscience who on her best days plays in progression like a wannabe Clijsters. With both on a good day, Giorgi wins, so we put 90 euros on Camila at 1.57.

Today we’ll start with the Rovereto Challenger final between Giulio Zeppieri (127 ATP) and Dominic Stricker (153). A balanced challenge between left-handers both in great form, perhaps the Italian’s game is more varied, but in our opinion this will be the year of the explosion of the great Swiss hope and his offensive game: 70 euros on Stricker at 1.71.

At 9.30 p.m., the unmissable Alcaraz-Norrie final in Rio de Janeiro. This week we liked little the attitude of the Spaniard, especially against Fognini and Jarry: with a great defender like the Briton he may lose but we don’t think it will happen: but the odds are wrong and we’ll go in putting 20 euros on Norrie at 4.70.
