Schwartzman-Kecmanovic, prediction and betting tips

The history of tennis will certainly not be written by the match between Diego Schwartzman and Miomir Kecmanovic in the Rome Masters 1000 today at 2pm. But the betting demon makes it interesting anyway, because the market values this match differently than we do and sees a relative balance between the Argentine world number 15 and the Serbian number 31. 

Both have taken the clay court season seriously, as is logical for players with their characteristics. Schwartzman has only lost to stronger players or to players with higher peaks of performance, as happened with Dimitrov in Madrid, and a few floors down the same thing happened to Kecmanovic, who is playing the best tennis of his career after years of ATP settling down: he was a predestined player, the new Djokovic, obviously he is not anymore, but he is someone who has reached the eighth round of a Slam and will reach it other times. Not Djokovic, but Seppi.

In the absence of injuries, of which we have no news, we are on the side of the Argentine’s completeness and intelligence, so we will put 70 euros on Schwartzman at 1.73 in a match that could end in the third. 

La storia del tennis non sarà di sicuro scritta dalla sfida fra Diego Schwartzman e Miomir Kecmanovic, nel Masters 1000 di Roma,  oggi alle 14. Ma il demone delle scommesse la rende comunque interessante, perché il mercato valuta questa partita in maniera diversa da noi e vede un relativo equilibrio fra l’argentino numero 15 del mondo e il serbo numero 31.

Entrambi hanno preso sul serio la stagione sulla terra battuta, come è logico che sia per giocatori con le loro caratteristiche. Schwartzman ha perso soltanto contro giocatori più forti o con punte di rendimento più alte, come è accaduto con Dimitrov a Madrid, e a qualche piano più in basso è successa la stessa cosa anche a Kecmanovic, che comunque sta giocando il miglior tennis della sua carriera dopo anni di assestamento ATP: era un predestinato, il nuovo Djokovic, ovviamente non lo è più, ma è uno che negli ottavi di uno Slam ci è arrivato e ci arriverà altre volte. Non Djokovic, ma Seppi: averne.

In assenza di infortuni, di cui non abbiamo notizia, stiamo dalla parte della completezza e dell’intelligenza dell’argentino, quindi punteremo 70 euro su Schwartzman a 1,73 in una partita che potrebbe finire al terzo.
