Giorgi-Schmiedlova e altre scommesse

Quale versione di Camila Giorgi vedremo stanotte? La trentunenne folgorata sulla via della vaccinazione gioca con quella Anna Karolina Schmiedlova che al primo turno non ha dato scampo alla Trevisan, così come la Giorgi non ne ha dato alla Pavlyuchenkova. Troppo pochi i match giocati negli ultimi mesi da entrambe per trarre indicazioni (dagli US Open la Giorgi soltanto 2 partite…) precise, quindi ci basiamo sulle loro caratteristiche tecniche che dopo tanti anni di carriera conoscono peraltro tutti. La Giorgi, numero 70 WTA, ha armi superiori rispetto al buon rovescio della slovacca numero 105 e il periodo di riposo-allenamento le può aver fatto bene, magari ha meditato sulle tante occasioni perdute: 100 euro tifosi sulla Giorgi a 1,45.

Chi ha voglia di una sorpresa non può resistere al match fra il predestinato Holger Rune, numero 10 del mondo, e l’antico, come gioco, Maxime Cressy, numero 41. Precedenti a favore del ventenne danese e campi non velocissimi, in rapporto alla superficie, quindi in teoria il franco-americano ed il suo serve and volley sistematico da anni Ottanta-Novanta sono spacciati. Però Cressy ha sempre un buon atteggiamento, non patisce il caldo, può portare al tie break chiunque: 10 euro da competenti (ormai c’è l’autocertificazione) su Cressy a 5,50.

La visione quasi integrale dei loro match con Berrettini e Fognini ci impone di avere un’opinione su un altro match di secondo turno, quello fra Andy Murray, numero 66 del mondo, e Thanasi Kokkinakis, numero 159. Ranking falsissimi, per i tanti infortuni, e caratteristiche dei giocatori notissime. I bookmaker ed il mercato ipotizzano che Murray non abbia recuperato dalla battaglia con Berrettini e che quindi l’australiano sia favorito, ma due giorni di recupero potrebbero essere sufficienti allo scozzese, che ha spesso letto bene il servizio di Berrettini e quindi dovrebbe fare lo stesso con Kokkinakis: 20 euro cazzuti su Murray a 2,44.

Il tennis femminile ha partite sulla carta equilibrate anche fra la numero 2 la numero 86 del mondo, situazione che come marketing ha pro e contro: le quote della sfida fra Ons Jabeur e Marketa Vondrousova lo dimostrano. Partita stra-interessante, fra le invenzioni, spesso troppe, della tunisina e l’uncino sinistro in top-spin della ceca, ma se non accadono cose strane vediamo la Jabeur vincente facile: 50 euro su di lei a 1,75.

Too few matches played in the last few months by both to draw precise indications (since the US Open Giorgi has played only two matches…), so we base ourselves on their technical characteristics, which after so many years of career, moreover, everyone knows. People in the mood for a surprise cannot resist the match between the chosen one Holger Rune, world number 10, and Maxime Cressy, number 41. Precedents in favour of the 20-year-old Dane and not very fast courts in relation to the surface, so in theory the French-American and his systematic serve and volley from the 1980s and 1990s are doomed. But Cressy always has a good attitude, doesn’t suffer the heat, can take anyone to the tie-break: 10 euros on Cressy at 5.50.

The almost complete viewing of their matches with Berrettini and Fognini forces us to have an opinion on another second round match, that between Andy Murray, world number 66, and Thanasi Kokkinakis, number 159. False rankings, due to many injuries, and well-known player characteristics. The bookmakers and the market assume that Murray has not recovered from his battle with Berrettini and that therefore the Australian is the favourite, but two days of recovery could be enough for the Scot, who has often read Berrettini’s serve well and should therefore do the same with Kokkinakis: 20 euros on Murray at 2.44.

Women’s tennis also has balanced matches between world no. 2 and world no. 86, a situation that has pros and cons: the odds of the match between Ons Jabeur and Marketa Vondrousova prove it. A very interesting match, between the inventions, often too many, of the Tunisian and the top-spin forehand of the Czech, but if nothing strange happens we see Jabeur winning easily: 50 euros on her at 1.75.
