Cecchinato-Andujar, preview e scommesse

Marco Cecchinato, numero 132 ATP, affronta Pablo Andujar, numero 98, nel primo turno del Roland Garros. Una partita dal pronostico difficile, ma proprio per questo stimolante, fra l’incredibile semifinalista dell’edizione 2018 (nei quarti di finale batté Djokovic), quando lo allenava Vagnozzi, l’attuale tecnico di Sinner, e lo spagnolo che a Parigi non è mai andato oltre il terzo turno. Due giocatori divisi da 6 anni (30 Cecchinato, 36 Andujar) di età ed anche da motivazioni diverse.

Perché Andujar nel 2022 sta giocando in singolare come uno che ha già dato tutto e sta cercando di allungare la carriera con il doppio, mentre Cecchinato è deciso a rientrare nei primi 100 anche se finora la cura Sartori non ha dato risultati: la sua stagione è stata disastrosa e per lui questo Roland Garros è l’ultimo treno per rimanere nei tabelloni dei grandi tornei e a maggior ragione di quelli piccoli (a Ginevra, dove lo abbiamo visto battere i resti di Thiem, ha dovuto superare le qualificazioni).

Partita equilibratissima, ma Cecchinato ha secondo noi più armi e più motivazioni dell’Andujar attuale. La nostra scommessa è quindi 50 euro su Cecchinato vincente a 2,08, per vincerne 54 o perderne 50.

A match with a difficult prediction, but precisely for this reason stimulating, between the incredible semifinalist of the 2018 edition (in the quarter-finals he beat Djokovic), when he was coached by Vagnozzi, Sinner’s current coach, and the Spaniard who has never gone beyond the third round in Paris. Two players divided by 6 years (30 Cecchinato, 36 Andujar) of age and also by different motivations.

Because Andujar in 2022 is playing singles as someone who has already given everything and is trying to extend his career with doubles, while Cecchinato is determined to get back into the top 100 even if so far the Sartori cure has not yielded results: his season has been disastrous and for him this Roland Garros is the last train to stay in the big tournaments’ draw, and even more so in the small ones (in Geneva, where we saw him beat Thiem’s remnants, he had to overcome the qualifiers).
