Bene senza Vlahovic

A grande richiesta riprendiamo la rubrica sulle scommesse sportive, nonostante noi si preferisca vivere (e quindi scommettere) che scrivere. Oggi soldi facili, almeno in teoria, sulla vituperata (abbiamo anche messo in pausa DAZN fino a inizio gennaio) Serie A, partendo da Verona-Juventus, alle 18.30 su DAZN e Sky. La squadra di Allegri sarà di nuovo senza Vlahovic e per precauzione non rischierà Chiesa, quindi si vedrà il 3-5-2 della svolta con Milik e Kean di punta e fiducia a Fagioli a centrocampo. Bocchetti non ha portato svolte rispetto a Cioffi, la squadra è mediocre da centrocampo in su e pessima in difesa: certo è disperata, ma l’1,86 della vittoria Juventus è da giocare.

Alle 20.45, anche in questo caso sia su DAZN sia su Sky, Sarri proverà l’aggancio al Milan al secondo posto con tre punti da conquistare sul Monza all’Olimpico. Potrà contare anche su mezzo Immobile, che sarà in panchina. Senza Zaccagni, sulla destra dell’attacco giocherà Cancellieri, con Pedro sulla sinistra e Felipe Anderson falso nueve: tutto da dimostrare che ce ne sia bisogno di uno vero, visto che la Lazio vive di ripartenza e contropiede, come un po’ tutti i club italiani di vertice. Non lo si può dire, però, vietato mettere in discussione il ‘giuoco’. Comunque 100 euro sulla Lazio a 1,70 li mettiamo, pensiamo che Lotito vincerà facilmente il derby di Forza Italia con Berlusconi.

Come al solito lo sport su cui scommettiamo di più è il tennis, ma vi risparmiamo i nostri ragionamenti sul challenger di Bratislava e andiamo dritti sulle Next Gen Finals al Palalido. Nulla fa più titolo di Musetti-Draper, verso le 21 (Sky e Supertennis), visto che per entrambi è la terza partita ed è da dentro-fuori: chi vince va in semifinale, chi perde a casa. Musetti si è messo in questa situazione perdendo ieri sera con Stricker, ma il mancino svizzero quando gioca senza coscienza, cioè spesso, vale molto di più del numero 111 del mondo. Più lineare è Draper, Musetti è senz’altro più forte di lui e la quota di 1,65 per la vittoria di Musetti è ottima per unire tifo e soldi.

La pallacanestro è lo sport che guardiamo di più, ma come scommettitori lì siamo sempre stati in perdita: evidentemente ne capiamo poco, visto che le scommesse sono un ottimo indicatore di competenza (facile spiegare ‘dopo’, lo può fare chiunque). Fra l’altro pensiamo che tante partite anche di alto livello siano sospette, vista la precisione con cui  i bookmaker calcolano gli spread: come si fa va dire che perdere di 19,5 punti è diverso che di 26,5? Quando è garbage time è garbage time, non ci sono più regole. Per questo la frase di Ja Morant all’arbitro durante la partita con i Celtics ha toccato un nervo scoperto, anche se magari è stata dettata soltanto dalla rabbia. Se ne parlerà poco, il popolino deve stare sul divano  e crederci, dandosi il cinque per schiacciate ignoranti. Sono le 15:13 di giovedì 10 novembre 2022 e salutiamo.

By popular demand we resume our sports betting column, despite the fact that we would rather live (and therefore bet) than write. Today easy money, at least in theory, on the reviled (we also put DAZN on hiatus until early January) Serie A, starting with Verona-Juventus, at 6:30 p.m. on DAZN and Sky. Allegri’s team will again be without Vlahovic and as a precaution will not risk Chiesa, so we will see the 3-5-2 of the turnaround with Milik and Kean as points and trust in Fagioli in midfield. Bocchetti has brought no breakthroughs compared to Cioffi, the team is mediocre from midfield up and bad in defense: sure it’s desperate, but the 1.86 Juventus win is worth playing.

At 8:45 p.m., again on both DAZN and Sky, Sarri will try to hook Milan in second place with three points to spare over Monza at the Olimpico. He will also be able to count on half Immobile, who will be on the bench. Without Zaccagni, Cancellieri will play on the right side of the attack, with Pedro on the left and Felipe Anderson a false nueve: all to prove that there is a need for a real one, since Lazio thrives on restarts and counterattacks, like a bit of all top Italian clubs. It cannot be said, however, forbidden to question the ‘giuoco’. However 100 euros on Lazio at 1.70 we put it, we think Lotito will easily win the Forza Italia derby with Berlusconi.

As usual the sport we bet the most on is tennis, but we’ll spare you our reasoning on the Bratislava challenger and go straight to the Next Gen Finals at the Palalido. Nothing makes more of a headline than Musetti-Draper, around 9 p.m. (Sky and Supertennis), as it’s the third match for both of them and it’s an inside-out: winner goes to the semifinals, loser goes home. Musetti put himself in this situation by losing last night to Stricker, but the Swiss left-hander when he plays without conscience, that is often, is worth much more than the world number 111. More straightforward is Draper, Musetti is certainly stronger than him, and the 1.65 odds for Musetti’s win are great for combining cheer and money.

Basketball is the sport we watch the most, but as bettors there we have always been at a loss: evidently we understand little about it, since betting is a good indicator of competence (easy to explain ‘after’, anyone can do it). Among other things, we think that so many even high-level games are suspect, given the precision with which bookmakers calculate spreads: how can you say that losing by 19.5 points is different than by 26.5? When it is garbage time it is garbage time, there are no more rules. That is why Ja Morant’s remark to the referee during the Celtics game struck a nerve, even though it may have been dictated only by anger. Little will be said about it, the populace has to stay on the couch and believe it, high-fiving each other over ignorant dunks. It is 3:13 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, and we say goodbye.
